Liberty shuffles CEE management
August 6, 2013
Liberty Global has announced an organisational change to its Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) operations.
Betzalel Kenigsztein, currently Managing Director of UPC Hungary, has been appointed in the new role of Managing Director for the Central and Eastern European Region, reporting to Diederik Karsten, Executive Vice President of Liberty Global’s European Broadband Operations. In this role, Kenigsztein will be responsible for the CEE region, including Poland, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the DTH activities in the region.
With the acquisition of Virgin Media, the Liberty Global group has significantly grown in size, requiring a further rebalancing of its management structure. The announced change will enable the Central and Eastern European region to receive dedicated management attention, with a focus on the unique needs of the operations in the region. Severina Pascu, currently Managing Director of UPC Romania, is appointed Managing Director of UPC Hungary. She will combine this position with her role as Managing Director of UPC Romania.
