July 22, 2013
SatLink Communications, a global teleport, content management and HD playout services provider, has announced it has been selected by global channel, Fashion TV (FTV), to playout, uplink and stream its HD channel onto AsiaSat 5. FTV feeds live content to 193 countries across the world and will be utilising SatLink’s Playout, Digital Archival and uplink services as their gateway to the Asian market to reach out to Asia’s Pay TV platforms across the continent over the AsiaSat 5 satellite.
SatLink will be providing FTV with full HD Playout services and digital archiving from its centre in Tel Aviv, Israel, and uplinking to AsiaSat-5 satellite located at 100.5° East to broadcast to Asia-Pacific mass markets including India, China and Indonesia. SatLink operates two full C-band transponders on AsiaSat 5; a cost effective DVB-S2 MCPC platform, which delivers higher throughput and greater bandwidth efficiency, and a DVB-S platform that enables customers to benefit from high quality content contribution and distribution solutions to the Asia Pacific region.
