Murdoch appointment dents Sky Deutschland shares
June 24, 2013
By Chris Forrester
James Murdoch has been appointed head of Sky Deutschland’s supervisory board. However, the publicly quoted company’s shareholders didn’t much care for the announcement. Murdoch is already a board member at the broadcaster (appointed in April), but his new appointment sees the departure of Chase Carey (COO at News Corp) who has held the position since July 2010.
But the news wiped 4 per cent (21 Euro-cents) from Sky-D’s price and made the company one of the largest fallers on the Frankfurt stock exchange on June 21st.
