Taiwan cable nears 5m subs

Some 60.7 per cent of Taiwanese homes are viewing cable TV, which translates into 4.97 million subscribers, says the country’s National Communications Commission.
Taiwan has 5 major MSOs and 27 independent cable operators. The five MSOs look after a combined market share of 72.8 per cent of homes.
China Network Systems is the largest player in the market (as at March 31st) with 1.089 million, a 21.88 per cent market share. Second-largest operator is Kbro with 1.04 million subs (a 20.93 per cent share).
