Spain’s Mediaset, owner of Tele 5 and Cuatro, has seen its profits drop by 41 per cent to €12.5 million in the first quarter of the year.
The acquisition of Cuatro had a negative impact in its profits but the company survived the TV crisis with ad revenues reaching €190 million, representing a 44 per cent market share.
Operational costs fell by 10 per cent to €178 million in the first quarter and by 23.1 per cent over the last three years due to “its 60 per cent in-house productions”, according to the company.
