March 6, 2013
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Antena 3 TV Group is taking a new name, Atresmedia, that will group together all the Group’s audiovisual interests. The TV division will be integrated into Atresmedia TV with all its eight TV channels: Antena 3 TV, La Sexta, Neox, Nova, Nitro, La Sexta3 Todo Cine, Xplora and pay TV channel Gol TV.
The new Atresmedia TV´s logo will combine several colours identifying all its brands: orange for Antena 3, green for La Sexta, blue for Xplora and La Sexta 3, yellow for Neox and Nitro.
This new brand comes soon after Antena 3 TV and La Sexta merged becoming the second largest TV group in Spain in direct competition with Mediaset-owned Tele 5. Combined, both groups represent almost 60 per cent of the audience ratings and take 85 per cent of the total TV ad market. In February, Antena 3 TV was second in the ratings battle with an average audience share of 13.2 per cent with Tele 5 leading the ratings with 13.5 per cent.
