BBC acquires UEFA women’s championships rights
December 14, 2012
The BBC has signed a deal to broadcast live coverage of all England’s games at the women’s European football championships next year, as the corporation looks to raise the profile of women’s sport and build on the success of the London Olympics.
Under the deal the BBC will air all England’s matches at the tournament in Sweden, the first time it has done so, as well as both semi-finals and the final on either BBC2 or BBC3.
In addition, all other peak-time matches will be broadcast live on BBC3.
