ESPN says its Latino service will transmit 10 to 20 events in 3D during 2013. A press reception in Buenos Aires, Argentina, heard channel bosses outline new services for second screens including tablets, and new web-sites as well as 3D activity.
ESPN’s 3D coverage is to include Wimbledon tennis, soccer in the shape of the Champions League finals as well as major Golf tournaments.
“In The United Stated, we rely on a 3D channel 24 hours, Sebastián López, Affiliate Sales VP told local journalists. “Here in the region, given the difference in time, technological development and 3D-set distribution, the market is not ready for a 24-hour channel. Here we will start with specific events”, he stated.
