Sportitalia seeks new partners
December 10, 2012
From Branislav Pekic in Rome
Italian broadcaster Sportitalia is in search of a partner interested in taking over the majority stake in the company. In recent months, Sportitalia has completed the spin-off of assets: the technical services and TV and radio production. The plan is to boost the company’s capital to reach break-even point, expected when turnover reaches €12 million.
Sportitalia has told PricewaterhouseCoopers to search for a relevant financial or strategic partner. Allegedly there is already interest by foreign companies who see this as an opportunity of entering the Italian TV and advertising market.
Sportitalia currently broadcasts 3 free-to-air sports channels via the digital multiplexes of Telecom Italia Media.
