December 5, 2012
By Chris Forrester
Scripps Networks Interactive chairman/CEO Ken Lowe told a bankers conference in New York that his flagship Food Network could grow to revenues of $1 billion over the next few years, and that he would be “disappointed” if it didn’t happen in the next 2-3 years.
According to Scripps’ most recent numbers (for 2011) Food Network’s revenues were some $745 million, themselves up 12.1 percent on 2010. That growth rate continues with the first 9 months of this year seeing revenues up 13.8 per cent to $616 million.
