LOVEFiLM for Nintendo Wii, Wii U
December 4, 2012
Amazon’s LOVEFiLM has launched on the Nintendo Wii in the UK. The new app comes a year after gracing the Xbox 360 and two years after launching on the PS3.
Wii owners can download the app from the Wii Shop Channel and can sign up for either a 30 day free trial or delve straight into a £4.99 per month membership to gain access to all streaming content.
The Wii U, which launched in the UK last week, will receive a HD version of the service in the near future.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with LOVEFiLM to offer Wii owners and soon Wii U owner’s on-demand film and TV content to enjoy. LOVEFiLM has a proven track record of success and innovation in film distribution and is a very welcome addition,” said marketing & PR director for Nintendo UK, Shelly Pearce.
