Motive Television STB licence agreement with Sagemcom
November 5, 2012
Motive Television, the London-based television software and services company, has announced that Motive Television Services, its fully-owned subsidiary, has signed a five-year software licence agreement with Sagemcom Broadband for the use of Motive’s Television Anytime Anywhere technology in anticipation of the launch of commercial services by Digiturk in Turkey in the first quarter of 2013.
Under the new contract, Motive will receive a licence fee for each set top box manufactured by Sagemcom for Digiturk, in Turkey plus time and materials as needed for technical support and training. Sagemcom can now commence the installation of Motive technology into set-top boxes for Digiturk for commercial use on a non-exclusive basis in Turkey.
Leonard M Fertig, CEO of Motive Television, said, “With 18 million television households in Turkey, and over 2.5 million Digiturk subscribers, the agreement represents a major opportunity for Motive in terms of size and potential deployment of our technology. It is also an important milestone, as Digiturk is the first satellite platform to use Motive’s advanced technology, and we are confident it may lead to new opportunities with other major satellite television operators.”
