Türk Telekom deploys Alcatel-Lucent’s VDSL2 solution
October 31, 2012
Türk Telekom, Turkey’s communications and convergence technologies company, has begun to deploy Alcatel-Lucent’s VDSL2 technology to deliver the latest broadband services such as HD television broadcasts and VoD sessions over its existing copper infrastructure.
The deployment is part of Türk Telekom’s “FiberkenTT” strategic network transformation initiative to provide Turkish households with high-speed broadband by bringing fiber closer to their homes and leveraging the existing copper wire infrastructure in the ‘last-mile’ of connection. This approach, called fibre-to-the-building, leverages Alcatel-Lucent’s 7353 ISAM fibre-to-the-building solution, and enables Türk Telekom to deliver high-speed broadband in the shortest possible timeframe because it utilises existing investments.
