China Telecom wins IPTV licences
October 26, 2012
China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has formally approved China Telecom’s licence applications for Internet audiovisual services, IPTV transmissions services and mobile television transmission services – and issued the operator an online audio-visual broadcasting licence.
The licence grants the telecom operator permission to develop Internet video services using its own network, while the IPTV and mobile television licences will better enable it to develop its existing services.
