BT has appointed Simon Green, the chief executive of the Boxnation boxing channel, to run its new sports channel.

Green, who has previously worked at BSkyB and Setanta, is leaving Boxnation, which launched on TV in the UK in September last year, just weeks after it announced the launch of the UK channel on Sky at the end of last month.
