India gets enthusiastic for HDTV

Zee TV-backed Dish TV has passed the 140,000 subscriber mark for its HDTV bouquet of channels. They are paying around $8.50 a month for the extra HDTV bouquet of channels.
While the number of HDTV viewers is modest, at least out of Dish’s 13.5 million core subscriber base, it shows that there is enthusiasm for the extra quality shown by HD. Dish’s basic price for its standard definition service is just $2.95 a month. Dish HD subscribers need a dedicated set-top box, with a higher level of security.
