ABN selects Arris SDV Solution
September 18, 2012
Arris Group has announced that its Switched Digital Video (SDV) solution is being deployed by South Korea’s largest independent system operator, Areum Broadcasting Network (ABN), to deliver new, premium programming to its subscribers in SeongNam City. The independent cable operator will rely on the Arris SDV solution to increase both the amount and visual clarity of its most popular HD programming, such as broadcasts of international sporting events and VoD services.
The deployed SDV solution is based on the Arris software based video control plane, CVEx platform, which provides true convergence between RF and IP video transport. The Arris SDV solution was tailored for the local Korean ecosystem and integrated with the local EPG, Middleware and STBvendor solutions to provide a standard solution for all Korean cable operators.
