Mexico satellite pay-TV booms

Mexicans seemingly love the digital quality and choice that pay-TV offers. According to the latest stats from Mexico’s Federal Telecoms Commission, DTH subscribers grew 25 per cent in the quarter year to June 30th. There are now some 6.3 million subscribers viewing DTH pay-TV.
As to individual operators DTH broadcaster Sky Mexico (backed by Televisa/DirecTV) leads the pay-TV market in Mexico with 34.7 per cent penetration rate; followed by cable companies Cablemas,
Cablevision and TVI with 18.7 per cent, Megacable (cable and MMDS) with 16.7 per cent, and the DTH player Dish Mexico (MVS) with 15.7 per cent.
