Ptch app launches, backed by Dreamworks
July 20, 2012
Ptch, a new category-defining mobile app that lets users create, share and collaborate on multimedia stories called Ptches, has launched in the Apple App Store. Backed by DreamWorks Animation, Ptch channels creative and technical storytelling expertise into a simple and easy-to-use tool for self-expression. The free app allows users to compose multimedia mash-ups up to 60 seconds in length using the photos, videos and music from their iPhones and social feeds.
In addition to accessing photo and video content on their iPhones, Ptch delivers in-app access to users’ photos and videos from popular social feeds, including Instagram, Google+, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter and Viddy.
Unique to the Ptch platform, Ptches are “living media” according to the press release – which means they are highly customisable compilations that can be quickly re-mixed, mashed and shared using a range of music and styles for personalized, expressive and stunning storytelling.
