By Chris Forrester
US drug store chain Walmart is offering up its Vudu-branded OTT service to Mexican customers. It says it will be competing against the likes of Netflix, Yuzu (from Maxcom), Totalmovie, iTunes and Microsoft’s Zune.
Walmart already has 2600 titles available and has wrapped distribution deals with most of the Hollywood majors including Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate, Universal, Disney and Warners.
Walmart’s service will be available through Samsung’s ‘Smart’ TV sets, Blu-ray players as well as suitably-equipped PCs and iPads.
