June 21, 2012
T-VIPS, a specialist in Digital Terrestrial TV solutions, has announced that IGLOO, a joint venture between SKY and TVNZ offering a new television service in New Zealand, has selected the T-VIPS CP560 DVB-T2 Gateway for deployment in New Zealand’s DVB-T2 network which will enable IGLOO to deliver advanced next generation television to homes across the country. The project marks the first delivery of a pay TV service using DVB-T2 technology in the AsiaPAC region.
“Transmitting high quality video over DVB-T2 networks has undoubtedly been a success in the Northern hemisphere and we’re looking forward to emulating that in New Zealand,” said Chaz Savage, General Manager of IGLOO New Zealand. “By adopting DVB-T2 we believe we can open up our services to a wider audience beyond DTH and cable services. T-VIPS has provided us with a top of the range solution which we can implement easily and effectively to give our customers the unfailing quality of service they demand.”
