Sky Italia acquires F1 rights
June 7, 2012
Sky will have the exclusive rights to broadcast all races live of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship following an agreement with Formula One Management, starting from March 2013.
Sky Italia will broadcast live all the Events of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and a national free TV channel will broadcast 9 Grands Prix on a live basis and the remaining 11 Grands Prix on a delayed basis (assuming there are 20 races during the championship). The National Free TV channel will be agreed upon by FOM and Sky.
Subscribers will be offered the possibility to customise their viewing experience and emotions thanks to interactivity, and to watch their champions’ races everywhere on tablets, PCs and smartphones thanks to the Sky Go service.
