TivùSat H1 2012: 1.45m active cards

Italian DTH platform TivùSat ended the first half of 2012 with over 1,453,213 active smart cards on May 31.
This data indicates a constant growth of activations, at a pace of about 1,200 smart cards per day.
An estimated 4.90 per cent of Italian households are equipped to receive TivùSat, which currently airs 61 TV channels and 40 radio stations.
A total of 29 certified digital boxes are available on the Italian market, of which a quarter are HD compatible, plus over 70 IDTV models produced by LG, Sony and Samsung.
The free-to-air Italian digital satellite platform was set up by national broadcasters RAI, Mediaset, Telecom Italia Media and the associations of national and local broadcasters FRT and Aeranti-Coral.
