May 23, 2012
Box TV is launching a new celebrity news and music TV channel which sees the iconic ‘Heat’ magazine brand move into broadcasting. Heat will launch on Sky and Virgin on July 3rd, and will reflect the tone of the popular magazine, website and radio station, aiming to become ‘the number one source of celebrity entertainment news and music on UK TV.’
The channel targets the connected, multi-tasking generation, with music video running alongside breaking news stories and links to social networks. Viewers will be invited to comment via Twitter on what’s happening as it happens keeping them up to date with all the top stories of the day.
Gidon Katz, Managing Director of Box TV said: “Heat’s unique editorial tone and massive consumer influence gives us the tools to reinvent Sky and Virgin’s music offerings in the same way that 4music changed the Freeview music landscape.”
