Mediaset launches international TV channel

Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset has announced the launch of a new TV channel dedicated to the estimated 60 million Italians living abroad, and offering a selection of the best programmes aired by terrestrial TV channels Canale 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4.
Mediaset Italia will be available from March 7th, both on satellite and cable, in Europe, North America, South America and Australia.
Besides a selection of prime time shows from Mediaset’s terrestrial TV channels, Mediaset Italia will also air entertainment programmes, TV series, sports and the main editions of the news bulletins.
The director of the new channel will be Massimo Donelli, currently the head of Canale 5.
