January 6, 2012
Shine Group has acquired London-based ChannelFlip, which has made Internet TV shows for stars including Harry Hill and David Mitchell, in Elisabeth Murdoch’s latest move to turn the production company into a multimedia production company.
As well as creating a range of online shows for TV personalities ChannelFlip also recently struck a deal with Studio Canal for access to 2,500 film titles – as varied as Rambo, Spinal Tap and the Ealing comedies – to use as short form clips.
“This acquisition further underlines Shine Group’s relentless commitment to delivering excellence across all platforms and our determination to develop powerful direct to consumer models and connections to audiences, wherever they may be,” commented Elisabeth Murdoch.
