Iran’s state broadcasting organisation IRIB is to launch a Spanish-language channel on December 21st, says a report from BBC Monitoring, quoting the Iranian FARS news agency.
The channel will broadcast from the Iranian capital Tehran. Initially, it will be on air with 16 hour programming, but it will switch to round-the-clock broadcast, the agency said.
The channel is called Hispan TV and has two websites – Hispantv.com and Hispantv.ir. It will be available in Europe and Latin America. It will be available from Hispasat’s 1C European beam (30 degrees West) as well as the satellite’s Americas beam, and Intelsat 9 (58 deg West) and NSS-806 (40.5 deg West).
