Verizon launches home control

Verizon Communications has launched a home monitoring and control system in the US. The system will allow customers to monitor and control their home appliances – such as switching lights on/off and turning on the heating -whilst they are away from home. Customers can access the system through smartphones, computers and FiOS TV.
The service, initially scheduled for a summer launch, costs $9.99 per month plus the initial cost of equipment.
