Jobs tributes pour in
October 6, 2011
Steve Jobs of Apple has succumbed to the cancer that has dogged him for the past decade, he was 56 years-old.
President Obama said he was a great American innovator while life-long rival Bill Gates said his impact would be felt for generations to come.
Ironically, as a former hippie, he ultimately lead what in recent times has been the world’s biggest company by market cap.
He said his motto was ‘stay hungry, stay foolish’. His skill was a unique intuition that predicted what consumers wanted from technology before they knew it themselves and the UIs of Macs, iMacs, iPods, iPhones and iPads have transformed the market. It says a lot that his second biggest achievement was the ground breaking Pixar studios.
Speaking of his predictive business skill he quoted Wayne Gretsky the famous ice hockey player who said “I’m always running to where the puck is going to be, not where it is.”
