YouView appoints CTO

YouView TV, the joint venture between the BBC, ITV, BT, Channel 4, TalkTalk, Arqiva and Channel 5 announced the appointment of Chris Bramley as Chief Technology Officer.
As CTO, Bramley will take immediate responsibility for YouView’s technical team and delivering the venture’s overall technology strategy. Bramley was responsible for designing and delivering the first OTT VoD service from a UK broadcaster in 2006. Most recently, in his role as Chief Architect at BSkyB he led the technical teams responsible for delivering Sky Anytime, Sky Player and Sky Go. Previous experience includes ioko Limited and working on projects for EMI Music.
YouView, on track to launch in early 2012, will integrate content delivered over the internet and broadcast into one seamless experience for consumers, giving them access to a greater choice of content direct to their living room TVs subscription-free.
