ARCEP receives four applications for 4G
September 15, 2011
French media regulator ARCEP has received four applications by the deadline for licences to spectrum in the 2.6 GHz and 800 MHz frequency bands, to be used for ultra high-speed mobile networks.
The four applications came from: Bouygues Telecom, Free Mobile, Orange France and Société Française du Radiotéléphone (SFR).
ARCEP will now examine these applications, and particularly their eligibility, according to the procedure stipulated in the call for applications. The results of the procedure are expected to be announced by mid-October 2011.
Meanwhile, the deadline set for applications for licences to the 800 MHz band, which is part of the digital dividend, is 15th December 2011.
