Arion select RedKey 2 MHEG solution for South Africa DTT markets

Strategy & Technology (S&T), the leading specialists in interactive TV playout systems and MHEG-5 middleware, is announcing that it has licensed its RedKey˙2 MHEG solution to Arion for products destined for the South African DTT market where MHEG will be used for the delivery of interactive information services and the Electronic Programme Guide.
“S&T has been working with the South African broadcasters on the receiver specification and MHEG profile for some time and this put us in a very strong position to offer a stable and robust solution based on our market leading RedKey˙2 product. Our involvement in the application creation and broadcast delivery of MHEG as well as the receiver requirements means that we are in the best position to support manufacturers in this emerging market.” said Paul Daly, General Manager Client Systems at S&T.
“Arion is a leading provider of digital TV receivers into the DVB market and South African offers a significant opportunity for us to expand our market. We looked to the market leader for our MHEG solution and S&T’s involvement in the definition in of the South African MHEG profile was a major factor in our decision to use RedKey˙” said Thomas Roh of Arion.
