Sony unveils mobile 3D headset
August 31, 2011
Sony has unveiled a new 3D visor aimed at video gamers and film fans. The Sony HMZ Viewer is a personal 3D viewer that is worn on the users head, delivering the ‘immersive experience of a home cinema’.
The visor comes complete with all-in-one goggles and earphones and Sony believes it provides the same experience as ‘sitting in the cinema’s best seat’. The HMZ Viewer connects to Blu-ray disc players and game machines.
Sony’s HMZ is due to go on sale in Japan in November. The Japanese company also plans to roll out the 3D entertainment device in the US and Europe in time for Christmas. It will go on sale for 60,000 yen (£500).
