América Móvil’s main operation is centred on Brazil, where it recorded 4.3 million cable subs, plus about 1.4 million DTH clients via the Embratel system América Móvil has recently launched in Paraguay although take-up is a modest 1,500 subs to the end of June. Its sales in Chile, where it is considered the nation’s second-largest operator, topped 387,000 subs. In Columbia it has 1.73 million subs. Despite its Mexico headquarters, it is still forbidden from launching TV services.
