Viaccess has been awarded the conditional access security and DRM contract for Skynindo, Indonesia. The deal was signed at CommunicAsia, in Singapore.
Skynindo, an Indonesian pay-TV platform, was (soft) relaunched in November 2010, and formally launched on January 1 this year under a new licence and using MPEG4 compression. It is offering a portfolio of TV channels from Palapa-D. The operator launched initially in 2009 using Telstar-18.
Skynindo offers both a basic and premium HDTV stream. “We are proud to support Skynindo’s Pay TV offering and take part in advanced TV deployments in the region,” said François Moreau de Saint-Martin, Viaccess CEO, and referring to the operator’s MPEG4 deployment. “As entertainment technologies demonstrate significant growth in the region, more and more TV providers choose to rely on advanced technology that will enable them to offer premium content and programming for a satisfying user experience.”
