Croatian fixed-line operator Voljatel has acquired two local cable TV operators and is eyeing a third. The two operators in question are Kerman and Antena JD and negotiations are underway for the acquisition of another cable operator in Sibenik, according to Voljatel CEO, Boris Levenski. Financial details of the deals were not disclosed.
Voljatel, which last year had a turnover of HRK83.4 million (€11.3 million) , placing it among the top 10 telecom companies in Croatia, aims to become the second largest cable operator. Voljatel recently launched its own cable TV operation, Terrakom, offering triple-play services (TV, telephony and Internet) to 60,000 households in the Zagreb and Kutina areas.
Market leader B.net, recently acquired by Telekom Austria, currently has two thirds of the total 187,000 cable TV users in Croatia, according to figures from the Croatian Agency for Post and Electronic Communications.
