Malcolm Wall, the former Chief Executive for Content of Virgin Media, is to become Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Media with effect from September 1st. Abu Dhabi Media manages more than 20 market-leading brands and operates within Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates and the wider Arab community.
Wall ran Virgin Media’s television business, the Virgin Media portal and the three television channel groups; Virgin Media Television (including Living TV); UKTV and Sit Up television, and was responsible for $1.5 billion of revenues. He joined the quad play operator from United Business Media.
Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Media, described Wall as “a heavy hitter” and said he was confident that he would take the media group – which has businesses in free and pay television, radio, publishing, digital media, games, feature films, music, digital signage, outside broadcast/production, and printing – to a new level, maximising its potential commercially and in public service excellence.
