KPN: IPTV subs up, DTT subs down

Dutch telco KPN added 58,000 subscribers for its IPTV service Interactieve TV in the first quarter of 2011, reaching a total of 360,000.
KPN lost 13,000 subscribers for its DTT TV service Digitenne in the first three months of this year to bring the total to 882,000, meaning the telco had an overall TV subscriber base of 1.242 million, bringing its share of the Dutch TV market to 16 per cent.
Total revenues across all operations and markets for the first quarter reached €3.235 billion, down 1.3 per cent year-on-year, while net profits rose 32 per cent to reach €591 million.
