Starmax HD names tech partners

New Spanish provider Starmax HD which aims to offer contract-freepay-TV has named its technical partners: Ferguson, Globecast and Conax.
Ferguson will be responsible for the production of the decoders, which in addition to HD channels from Starmax, allow viewers access to many satellite broadcast channels as well as DTT channels in both Standard Definition and HD format. The decoders feature a USB port with PVR functionality, which allows users to record and save television programs onto their own external drives, as well as play personal files in several formats via the USB port. The decoder also allows Internet access, which streams radio stations from the Internet.
GlobeCast will be responsible for delivery of the completed Starmax HD bouquet for potential reception by millions of television households in Spain. Finally, Conax will provide to Starmax HD encryption and the necessary cards to access in a safely, easy and pre-paid way to the exclusive content of the platform.
