France Telecom: 3.5m pay-TV

France Telecom has reported strong growth in profit for 2010, driven mainly by higher gain on the formation of Orange and T-Mobile joint venture in the UK as well as strong revenue performance in rest of the world segment.
For the year, net income attributable to owners of the parent increased to €4.88 billion from €3.02 billion last year.
The telco reported that its pay-TV services had 4.1 million subscribers globally by the end of 2010, up 28 per cent (or 902,000 customers) from one year previously. In France the telco had reached 3.505 million customers for its pay-TV services by the end of last year, up 27 per cent year-on-year.
