Netgem Q4 sales down
January 13, 2011
French IPTV STB manufacturer Netgem has reported consolidated sales down 9 percent to €27.7 million in the fourth quarter of 2010, with French revenues down 21 per cent to €21.4 million and international sales up 1.8 times to €6.3 million. Over the full year, Netgem’s revenues grew by 3 per cent to €134.9 million, including France down 24 per cent to €95.9 million and international up 6.8 times to €39 million.
The company anticipates a net decrease in STB sales with SFR in France, but expects to continue to develop its hardware and software maintenance services for the installed base of nearly 3 million units.
Under its international development strategy it will continue to accompany the development of newly acquired customers and expects to add new ones in the EMEA region, especially thanks to its IPTV 2.0 solution for telecommunication operators. Netgem’s IPTV 2.0 strategy allows operators to offer multi-screen TV and VOD from a master STB used as a media server.
