iiNet launching IPTV this month
June 10, 2010
iiNet will launch a new IPTV service in Australia this month.
“The actual product should be available for purchase before the end of the month,” chief executive Michael Malone confirmed. He did not mention particulars of pricing plans except that the public could expect details in the coming days.
iiNet has teamed up with FetchTV, a new wholesale pay-TV provider that has support from an Asian pay-TV provider, Astro All Asia Networks. The service will compete with other large ISPs; Internode is set to launch its own IPTV service with FetchTV shortly, and Telstra is pushing strongly into the market with the impending launch of its T-Box set-top box.
