Altech appoints Balchin CEO

Altech UEC, the South African developer of digital STBs and interactive software solutions announced the appointment of Peter Balchin as Chief Executive Officer. Balchin previously worked with organisations such as Pace Networks, Novatel Wireless and Nortel Networks in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Altech Group Chief Executive Officer, Craig Venter said “in order to realise the full potential of Altech UEC and to develop the organisation from our current leading position in the African market and to build on our successes in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, India and Australia, it was imperative to secure the services of an experienced and successful professional from within the industry. We are delighted to have been able to appoint an individual of the calibre of Peter and are confident that he will lead Altech UEC to a dominant position in all of our target markets.”
