Mobile TV goes international
December 15, 2009
Two major organisations within mobile television have joined forces in order to better co-ordinate and promote initiatives around the world. This follows a fast growth in the usage of DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) as a standard for mobile TV and radio on five continents.
DMB Alliance is a Korean organisation which focuses on supporting global deployment of DMB by sharing experiences and providing end-to-end solutions. It counts 37 members. International DMB Advancement Group (IDAG) has 13 members from 11 countries in Europe and South East Asia. IDAGs main focuses are on content, additional services, business models and increasing the terminal market.
“By combining competence, knowledge and forces, our two organisations will stimulate and create a mass market for terminals and services across the world,” President of DMB Alliance Dr. Dae-Ung Kim says.
