Virgin speeds in slow market
July 29, 2009
UK Broadband customers received average speeds of 4.1 megabits per second in April, well below the 7.1 Mb/s rate advertised by Internet service providers, according to an Ofcom survey.
Virgin Media came out on top, with customers on its “up to 10 Mb/s” cable broadband service experiencing average speeds of 8.1 to 8.7 MB/s, more than twice as fast as the average “up to 8 Mb/s” DSL service.
