European pay-TV top 10

Italian consultancy e-Media Institute has published a list of the top 10 pay-TV operators via satellite, which sees BSkyB on top with 9.2 million subscribers in the UK and Ireland, 34% of all TV households.
Canal Plus France is second with 5.3 million, followed by Sky Italia with 4.7 million subscribers (19.9% of total TV households). Fourth is Germany's Premiere with 2.3 million subscribers (5%), while Spain's Sogecable Digital Plus placed fifth with 2 million subscribers (12.5%).
Sixth is Telenor Canal Digital, present in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, with slightly over 1 million subscribers (9%), followed by MTG Viasat 2, available in the same countries, 676.000 users (6%).
Portugal's Zon Multimedia TV Cabo is eighth with 424.000 subscribers (11.3%), ninth is Multichoice Hellas Nova in Greece and Cyprus with 322.000, while last on the top 10 list is Germany's Unity Media Arena with 191.000 subscribers (0.5%).
