Poland: DTT multiplex 3?
July 17, 2008
Poland could launch a third DTT multiplex as part of its switchover. Regulators the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) and National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) may use the 20 per cent of frequencies allocated to Poland that have not already been earmarked for two planned multiplexes by setting up a third. The new multiplex would carry a limited number of channels, some HD, and initially reach between 25-50 per cent of the population. As with multiplex 2, the operator will be chosen in a tender.
