Smart Telecom selects Thomson triple play solutions

Smart Telecom, Irish telecoms provider, has selected Thomson to provide an end-to-end solution for its launch of advanced triple-play packages. In support of the Smart Telecom services, Thomson will provide a solution integrating its IPTV solution with its Cirpack VoIP softswitch to enable unique communications services in addition to interactive and on-demand video. Smart Telecom, who has its own DSL network, has purchased Thomson's set-top boxes, VIBE MPEG4 encoders, Sapphire video-on-demand servers, and SmartVision IPTV service platforms.
