Google targets Europe

Internet search giant Google is planning a dramatic expansion of its operations in Europe, aiming to recruit several thousand engineers over the next three years to create a research and development team as large as its US unit. The move is partly a bid by the search giant to redefine its image on the continent, where many Internet users regard it as an aggressive US multinational.
