Multiple broadband copper options
June/July 2001

Metalink's new Olympus-SDL technology package allows telecom carriers to provide multichannel video, voice and high-speed data services over existing copper lines.

The company says it created Olympus-SDL as a package with the elements needed for new generation DSLAM/Optical Network Unit and CPE/set-top box design for telecom carriers.

The product includes embedded MIPS RISC processor and universal software programming interfaces. The package comes with Metalink's DSL-Agora development platform for real-time subscriber line conditioning, QoS and performance monitoring. The product supports multiple industry standards, including VDSL, G.shdsl, SDSL, HDSL and HDSL2/4.
